Kill Switch

Kill Switch-

a simple and effective effective way to prevent theft

Remove the small wire from between the coil and the distributor. Run two new wires, one from the coil and one from the distributor to an underdash toggke switch. At your desired hidden location add an inline fuse holder and a single throw single pole toggle switch. Connect each end of the fuse holder to each contact of the toggle switch. Connect the distributor wire you added to one side of the switch and the coil wire to the other switch connection. With the switch in the "on" position, the car should start. The car will also start with the switch in the "off" position, the car will also start, but will run for only around 10 seconds. Once the fuse is blown, the car will not run, but can be started by someone returning the switch to the "on" position, hence the importance of the secret location. Helpful Hints: *Coil polarity. Hook the coil wire to the distributor using the same polarity as the battery. If the car is positive ground battery, hook the positive side of the coil to the distributor. If the car is negative ground battery, hook the negative side of the coil to the distributor.
